Rhinoplasty Information
Rhinoplasty is a term that is often heard in this day and age. But many people don’t really know what rhinoplasty is and what is involved in rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is usually performed under general anesthetic. Once the rhinoplasty surgeon has finished the re-shaping of the nose, a splint is usually applied to help the nose keep its new shape. The splint is typically removed along with the stitches approximately one to two weeks after the rhinoplasty surgery. Nasal packs may also be used to help keep the septum properly in place. The septum is a piece of tissue that separates the two nasal passages. These nasal packs are usually removed a few days after the surgery. Your doctor will explain any follow up visits that you must make to his or her office and when you should make them.

If you are considering rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons you are probably dissatisfied with the shape and appearance of your nose.
